A little wooden house in the cushioned, swampy heart of the Everglades: that's where Louis Cyphre, from the film Angel Heart, decided to take his retirement.
His neighbours haven't really got to know him, but Louis is still just as unnerving, especially when his favourite music begins to pulse from his old gramophone : Tribecca.
Formed in 2006, Tribecca are: a singer, crazy about rock (Nicolas), a guitarist, lover of gypsy swing (Christophe), a bassist, passionate about groove (Gilles), and a drummer, hooked on metal (Alexandre).
The end result is - none of the above, but a spellbinding music that sometimes tends towards a primitive blues rock, the little brother of the fantastic Archie Bronson Outfit.
Nicolas's voice is a voodoo magic of its own: a low, deep voice that grabs you by the gut and compels you to listen; and the group's implacable rhythm roots you to the spot.
Tribecca have reinvented a kind of metallic, muddy rock that's incredibly powerful. Lovers of the low-down dirty supernatural will follow them blindly, all the way to that run-down little cabin in the Everglades...
