Pierre & Marie's new album, Who Cares ? Me ! will remain one of our most beautifil discoveries of 2008. What's remarkable in this very dense album melodically is |
its variety and paradoxally, its coherence. Pierre, the trio's writer-composer, can multiply the directions all he likes (pop, folk, instrumental or electro), this album has a really touching singularity. (...)
Captivating & terribly addictive.
In a different register, but just as addictive, you can also check out Logarithmics' first real mini-lp, Behind the Screen in Broad Daylight. Incredibly hooky thanks to the stunning choruses, this ep walks in the majestic traces of its Brit-pop elders (like Bloc Party & Interpol). The raw clear sound goes straight to the essence of things like any good pop song should. Logarithmics' songs have mad class and we're jealous.
